block party downpour
when rain arrives it's a shimmer, a looking down Dorgenois and seeing wet walking steaming gray-walling up the way, no moment later being inside showered grey it's an umbrellaed neighbor walking us to doors a hot grill covered down cookie covers closed a child running arms wide joy wider its an uncle worried for elders' health it's a welcome pause armchair retreat with feet up to replenish knowing that community is good over hot coffee a cat curled it's a re-emerging out onto into the wet oak drip street where the beat comes back the heart heartier thanks deeper grills open; good food floods the tables it's a downpour of grace, rainless space for the rest of the day to allow an outpouring, intaking of Word, of Life, of Love. |
