Psalm 143 Variation for a Loved One of a Sufferer
Hear my prayer, O LORD; give ear to my pleas for mercy for my child (brother, wife, friend, etc)! In your steadfast love answer me, in your righteousness! Enter not into blindness of them, for no one living is as nothing to you. For the enemy has pursued their soul; it has crushed their life to the ground; it has made them sit in darkness like those long dead. Therefore, their spirit faints within them; their heart and my heart are appalled. I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Answer quickly, O LORD! Their spirit fails! Hide not your face from them, lest they be like those who go down to the pit. Let them hear in the morning of your steadfast love; let them trust in you; make them know the way they should go let them lift up their soul to you. Deliver them from their enemies, O LORD! Let them flee to you for refuge. Teach them to do your will, for you are their God! Let your good Spirit lead them on level ground. For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve their life! In your righteousness bring their soul out of trouble! In your steadfast love, cut off their enemies! Destroy all the adversaries of their soul! for they are your servant as I, too, am your servant. |

Have mercy on them, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your tender mercy release them from their bondage any and all that darkens their days wash them, cleanse them, free them from evil, all false beliefs, all demonic forces! For I know my transgressions and my errors are ever before me, but struggle to see theirs! In this blindness, against you I err, hurt you by putting my trust in false gods that highjack my mind and feet! We know that you delight in truth in the inward being so teach us wisdom in our secret heart. Guide us all to see your way, your will! Cleanse us all and we shall be clean; wash us all and we shall be whiter than snow. let them hear joy and gladness; heal injured bones, brains, madness; release them from any penalty from our wrongs; create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them; cast them not away from your presence and take not your Holy Spirit from them. Remember the day you conceived them, knit them together and nurture once again in You, with You, for You. You are our refuge, our sanctuary, our Womb. Restore this child into joy in the life you have gifted and bless them with a willing spirit! Have mercy on them, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your tender mercy release them from their bondage! |
