Rowdy Beauties Bible Studies for 12-Steppers
Rowdy Beauties Bible Studies in New Orleans

Have you and a small group (up to 7, not less than 4 people) ever wanted to read the Bible and be given space to have and develop your own experience with "the Word?"

"Show me the meaning of the Word
Show me the meaning of the Word
Cuz I've heard so much about it
They say you can't live without it...
I don't want to live without it...
Don't make me live without me
Oh, love, I want love, I want love, I want love.."

Crissy Hines, The Pretenders

In these workshops you and your 12-Step group move through one of the gospels line by line, chapter by chapter. We pray, read, and talk.
At each session, one entire chapter is usually read and a relevant selection from the Old Testament, too.
So if the group reads the Gospel of Matthew, the workshop will last at least 28 sessions.
If we read the Book of John, it will last at least 21 weeks.
All persons of all colors, creeds, gender identifications, and levels of exposure to, understanding of, and belief in the Word are welcome.
These workshops are especially for people in 12 Steps.

The spirit is a combination of lectio divina (click here), dialogue, inquiry, and yes, teaching.

We value:

connection (over division)
curiosity (over complacency)
compassion (over intolerance)

expansion (over contraction)

There is so much "church hurt."
We pray that this Bible Study be a place to heal.
We pray for an authentic experience with the Word.
We seek refuge.
Guide us LORD, in your truth, light, and way.

The facilitator uses the ESV translation.
