Saying 40
Jesus said: A grapevine was planted outside of the Father but, as it did not strengthen, they will pull it up by its roots and it will die.
I died after I took the third step of AA; the death occurred through the process of Steps 4-9. Freddy used to say, "Doing Step 5 is going to your funeral." We let go of the past, its secrets, shame, resentments, character defects, fears. We admit our faults and are willing in Steps 6 and 7 to surrender them to God. We make amends in Step 9 for the harm we have caused when "planted outside of the Father." We are "pulled up by our roots" and have died through the process. We stay planted in the Father by living in Steps 10-12 on a daily basis.

Saying 41
Jesus said: Whoever possesses some will be given more. Whoever possesses virtually nothing will have what little he does possess taken away.
He's talking about faith! When I trust God, my faith grows as God confirms and assures the validity of my faith. When I have no faith and rely on self, my faith peters out and disappears. The little becomes less; the greater becomes more.
Paradoxically, it takes a very very small faith to surrender, the "size of a mustard seed." But what matters is that I take the indicated step. Then my faith grows into a great big tree!!

Saying 42
Jesus said: Be one of those who pass by.
Stay out of attachments! That doesn't mean to be unloving; rather, be one seeking HP, not seeking to concretize a life. Maybe I'll be remembered, maybe forgotten, but the WORKS remain, anonymously sown or sown in humility, in acknowledgement of the Source. A sower doesn't stand in one place to sow his or her seed. She must keep moving so that each seed has the chance to take root.
