Saying 70
Jesus said: When you give rise to that which is within you, what you have will save you. If you do not give rise to it, what you do not have will destroy you.
We know the kingdom is within and so we give rise to that or... we don't. My world is one of love and truth... or not. I'm either co-creating, manifesting with God... or not. It's like Dylan says, "It may be the devil or it may be the Lord but you're gonna have to serve somebody." What's my choice to be?
I also experience the "disease" within myself as in Rumi's profound poem, "The Guest House" (to read, click here). To heal, the meannesses, wrongs, false beliefs, prejudices, must be released. To survive, the ugly thoughts, frightening dreams, hidden secrets must be told. The truth saves and sets us free (but often disturbs first). The fourth and fifth steps matter deeply. Clean house; the dirt is real.

Saying 71
Jesus said: I will destroy this house and no one will be able to build it again.
Once Jesus rose, the fallacy of the divine holiness of Jerusalem's gargantuan temple was exposed and in fact physically cracked. That massive stone construction had layer upon layer of exclusivity, the inner-most-sacred chamber of which could only be accessed by the highest Levitical priest. When Jesus rose from the dead he demonstrated, exposed, revealed the truth of who we are: brothers and sisters, angels, human beings being utterly human, spirits in flesh and bone - riddled with defects, inconsistencies, yet loved, forgiven, guided, and capable of those divine traits when aligned with truth.
Jesus destroyed the temple forever for me. I now follow, imperfectly, and keep clearing away the wreckage of my present, thereby staying aligned.

Saying 72
A man said to him: Talk to my brothers so that they will divide my father's property with me. Jesus replied: Man, who made me a divider? He turned to his disciples and asked them: Really, am I a divider?
In the 12-Step life, we don't manage others' lives. We simply lead others through a process that allows answers to be uncovered through contacting the Spirit within, around, and above. I can't manage your life when my own is unmanageable.
That said, we are created to listen, to pay attention to the nudges that come often through others’ experience. At our meetings, we do not offer advise but rather share experience. Others may share their experience with me but only I ultimately make the choice.
Jesus also said that the truth we do encounter from within will create division; he does not create that division but rather truth will do that when we take a stand for it.
